makeup must haves…

Most of the time I do wear a full face of makeup that includes when I’m at work as well. The only times I dare to go out the house without my eyebrows on is if I’m really hungover and I just can’t be bothered but that doesn’t happen often.

So here’s my list of makeup must haves for a natural(ish) everyday look…

Getting the skin prepped and primed.

IMG_6510.JPGFirst up I use a toner just to get rid of any excess makeup that I might have missed from the the night before. I’m currently using Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner with Aloe Vera. It’s a highly rated product that you can get from Amazon and it boasts an extensive list of uses, including redness, breakouts, makeup removal, etc. It smells AMAZING and it leaves my skin feeling so soft. I’m honestly in love with this product and I could not recommend it more.

After applying the toner the next step is to moisturise. As I said in my previous post I use Aveeno Skin Relief Nourishing Lotion. To find out what I think about it click here.

Next up is the primer; I use NYX First Base Primer Spray. I like using a spray because it’s so easy apply and it saves so much time in the morning.

Now we’re getting to the actual makeup…

EYEBROWS!! Eyebrows are my absolute fave. I love love love them. I’ve gone through so many eyebrow styles but I’ve finally found my perfect products that give me my perfect eyebrows. FullSizeRender (8)

Okay, so first up I shape my brows with a basic eyebrow brush that’s probably Sainsbury’s own – nothing fancy here. Once that’s done the first step is the gel, I use Benefit ka-BROW! eyebrow cream-gel (number 5 which is the darkest one). The gel does come with a brush but I find that it puts the gel on way to heavy so I use the A17 precision angled brow brush from Spectrum.

FullSizeRender (9)Benefit ready, set, BROW! clear brow gel is next up. Use this to help keep your eyebrows perfectly tamed all through out the day. Then last but not least is Benefit high brow eyebrow highlighter. I apply this to the bottom and the top of my brows then blend it using the A06 large fluffy shader. The brush is actually for eyeshadow but I don’t care it works for this.

Eyes, Eyes, Eyes

For my eyes I’m currently using LOC Out of your Shell One & Done Shadow Stick which is Birchbox’s own brand. It’s such a pretty colour and it’s so easy to apply. I put it up to the crease and blend it in with my finger. As I’m really pale I always feel like if I have no colour on my eye I look sort of dead so I’ve started using Benefit Hoola Lite to add a bit of colour to my eyes. That goes on above the crease all the way up to the brow bone. The brush I use for that I’ve had for years so I couldn’t even tell you where I got it from. To finish off the look I use NYX XXL Super Luscious Mascara. Which is wonderful; it’s super light and doesn’t clump at all. It gives my eyelashes a naturally dark and fuller look.

And the rest.

NYX Photogenic HD Concealer in green is the first step. I use it to cover up any redness FullSizeRender (12)that I have going on in my face. It does the job well. The foundation I use is MAC Pro Longwear Foundation in shade NW15. This foundation is the best one I’ve found for my FullSizeRender (11).jpgskin, most high street makeup leaves my skin blotchy and orange as none of them quite have a shade that’s pale enough for me. It’s also light enough that it doesn’t have a cakey look about it. I team it up with the B01 flat top buffer from Spectrum. The last two things is the translucent NYX High Definition Finishing Powder and e.l.f. Matte Magic Mist & Set. The finishing powder is applied with the A01 Domed Powder Brush from Spectrum. Then to finish everything off I use the magic setting spray – find out more about it here.

That’s all. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed.

xoxo
